ATTENTION! ATTENTION! The festival season has begun!
Anyone who has forgotten to book a ticket for a nice festival, because of his extended winter sleep will hopefully find something in this blog post. I’ve been looking for festivals with available tickets and worth to support in my opinion.
1. GönnDir – Hip Hop Open Air (11.06.2917; Rummelsburg Berlin)
A real last minute tip is the GönnDir Open Air in Rummelsburg/ Berlin.
The biggest hiphop openair takes place directly at the Spree river in Berlin and there will be artists like Haftbefehl, Cut Killer, Amewu and Dj Craft (K.I.Z.). Of course, you will also enjoy culinary delights on the open air grounds. You can expect pizza and pasta, grilled food and homemade ice cream! On the volleyball field, you can do some sporting activities or, if you are more relaxed, enjoy the show in the Chillarea with a shisha or a nice cocktail. The early bird tickets are unfortunately off, but you still have the chance to get a regular ticket!
2. Wilde Möhre Festival (10.08.-13.08.2017; 03116 Göritz)
The Wilde Möhre Festival is one of my latest and most interesting discoveries.
On Instagram I came across this small but delicate festival that is intensively committed to nature and many other projects worth to support.
A colorful mixture of bands and DJs, theater and film shows, body and mind, art and DIY, scientific lectures, literature and vegetarian or vegan food await you.
“Our approach includes a holistic, fair, and climate-neutral festival considering the needs of all participants – guests, artists, operators, residents, and not least the environment”- as you can read on the festival website.
In the Wilde Möhre Onlineshop you can still buy supporter-tickets.
3. Fête de la Musique (21.06.2017 von 16-22 Uhr in Berlin)
This festival is just the right thing for the financially restricted people among you!
Fête de la Musique connects people in 540 cities worldwide, 300 of them in Europe (ca. 50 in Germany).
All the people celebrate the music together and there are artists from different genres of music on more than 100 stages all over Berlin. The festival is free for the visitors and also the musicians perform without fee.
I recommend the Badehaus x Cassiopeia Openair on the RAW-area. There will be acts like FUCK ART, LET’S DANCE! and MEUTE. So haul ass friends and don’t miss the date!
4. Kosmonaut Festival (16.06.+ 17.06.2017; Stausee Rabenstein/ Chemnitz)
You could also buy tickets for the Kosmonaut Festival.
The festival was founded in 2013 by the Chemnitz band Kraftklub and has been well visited since then. Artists like Deichkind, Editors, Bilderbuch and von wegen Lisbeth will perform. Kosmonaut takes place directly at a barrier lake where you can cool down as you wish. You do not have to go hungry either because there are many stalls where you can get healthy and fresh food. There will also be a festival market and a breakfast offer on the camping site.
5. Artlake Festival (17.-20.08.2017; Bergheider See/ Niederlausitz)
The magical Artlake Festival invites you to dream and enjoy this year. A virtuous mixture of art, music, spirituality and nature awaits you. Colorful installations, imaginative illusions and impressive street art give the festival an atmospheric finishing touch. A festival for all senses which will have many great artists there like Spinoza , Hundreds or Wild Tales . And there will be culinary refinements, readings and workshops as well.
6. alínæ lumr (25.-27.08.2017; Storkow/ Brandenburg)
The alínæ lumr invites you to Storkow for the third time. The three-day festival is particularly impressive with its beautiful grounds – the whole city of Storkow. On the castle, the market square, the backyards, the old town church, hidden meadows and the lake, wonderful music acts, workshops, theater and readings await you. My personal music highlights are The Notwist , Coals and Halo Maud .
7. Maifeld Derby (16.-18.06.2017; Mannheim/ Maimarktgelände)
Things will get hot in Mannheim this month! There are over 60 hand-picked bands of different genres on 4 different stages on the Maifeld Derby . In addition, you will be offered a relaxed atmosphere and a very clear terrain. You need your beauty sleep? No problem. On Friday and Saturday you can celebrate until 3:30 pm and on Sunday until 10 pm on the festival grounds, but afterwards, the visitors have to be quiet. There you can see many super-cool bands and dj’s like Metronomy (große Liebe), SOHN and of course Moderat.
You can listen to the Maifeld Derby Spotify Playlist to join this beautiful festival .
8. Plötzlich am Meer (25.-27.08.2017; old airfield beside Kołobrzeg/ Polen)
The last festival I would like to recommend you is the Plötzlich am Meer in Poland. The venue is an old airfield right at the Polish Baltic Sea. Meadow, forest, beach and sea- 4 absolute well-being guarantees, which promise a perfect festival holiday. Apart from the beautiful location, the festival also offers many music treasures. For example FloFilz, Jan Blomqvist and the King of rap WHY SL NO PLUG aka. MoneyBoy.
Don’t spend your summer between just your four walls, go out there and get some sun.
